Welcome to my blog. Running out of time is about sharing all things beautiful. Time is the most undefinable yet paradoxical of things; the past is gone, the future is not come, and the present becomes the past even while we attempt to define it, and, like the flash of lightning, at once exists expires. Life is too short, so let's start writing.

Invisible Love.

Her name is Jeanne Bauer and she is the creator of Anu Jewelry. From intricate little designs to bold mind blowing patterns, Bauer's love for vintage jewelry is hands down a masterpiece. Her eye and soul bring out the femininity in all her pieces juxtaposed with badass edge. Her art is "one of a kind." Bauer is not afraid to take risks, each of her designs carry personality, and when you wear them, you'll understand what this means. They hold wisdom and they are definitely beyond the norm.

Her creations are as delicate as her soul. You don't dare mess with either. She is an absolute gem and her fascinating ora leaks into her work. As soon as your skin encounters the precious detailed craftsmanship of such intriguing pieces, one will encounter invisible love.

The beauty of working with vintage materials is in the history. Imagine where this piece has been, whose hands it has touched and what stories it could tell - Jeanne Bauer

Callas Went Away.

I'm not really a shoe kinda girl. I mean I love shoes, any kind of shoes actually. Never the less, I don't own many. Forty is definitely not too much.

However, when it comes to boots.. let's stop right there. I could live in boots.. well writing this while its 100f outside... perhaps not. But you get the drift.

Vintage cowboy boots circa 1950's by Shareens Vintage.

These boots can be worn 3 different ways. I love them. Purchased at London's Camden Market.

If you're a boot lover like me, you're going to thank me later. Solestruck is a fantastic website that won't break your bank account. Jeffrey Campbell along with other hip designers display their amazing collection and I can't wait to get my hands on them.

Beyond The Invisible.

Yesterday I was surrounded by unfamiliar faces, a colourful store and energetic personality. As I sipped on my coffee while watching the ocean during my lunch break I came to realize that finally I get to do what I really want to do. What a brilliant feeling. Change, fear, the unknown.. they are all not so bad.

We’ve all heard the phrase, “Do what you love.” The idea that we can and should do what we love doing in our work, and that we should choose experiences that make us feel good in life, was a pretty unconventional idea 20 years ago. These days, however, it’s an ideal that most of us believe in and want to live by. So then why aren’t we all doing what we love? Why aren’t we all following our passion?

Do you know what you love? One of the challenges of our internet-savvy generation is that we have access to lifestyle models and opportunities all over the world. We’ve got an abundance of choices available to us, and this can lead to being overwhelmed and a habit of questioning whatever we have and wondering whether the grass is greener on the other side. And of course we still have social pressure from our families and peers who place their expectations on us. For example, encouraging you that a Business Law degree will get you much further in life than a Fashion Degree (wish I could erase and rewind).

The idea of doing what you love is of no use to you if you’re unsure what you want and love. And nobody else can tell you what you love – the whole point of doing what you love is that you’re doing what YOU love, rather than the things other people tell you you should love. But while you can’t learn what you love from other people, you can learn how to meet your true self and discover what you love for yourself. There are lots of ways to discover what you love, and one of the most unexpected routes to discovering what you love is through your fear, going beyond the invisible. (I am perfectly aware I have used the word 'love' ten times).

Fear feels horrible, and we tend to code experiences that feel horrible as “bad,” and then we try to avoid those “bad” experiences that we’re afraid of. Avoidance is a great strategy when the experience really is an actual threat to us, but most of what we spend our time being afraid of these days doesn’t pose any real threat to us, and might even be really good for us – and then we miss out on the good stuff when we avoid it.

You see, we’re wired to feel fear whenever we’re stepping into unfamiliar territory, because fear helps us to stay alert and pay more attention in unfamiliar situations. So we need to recognize that fear doesn’t always mean that there’s an actual threat and that we need to get away from the thing that’s triggering our fear. Sometimes fear means that we’re entering new territory and learning, growing and thriving. Sometimes our fear is pointing us to exactly what’s most important to us and what we love most, in amongst the myriad of different demands and opportunities presenting themselves to us.
When something is important to us, it matters to us how it turns out. The more important that thing is to us, the more fear we’re likely to feel about it – because our heart is in it and we care deeply about it. If it wasn’t important to you, you wouldn’t worry about how it turned out.

If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude - Maya Angelou.

Morphing Thru Time.

One thing I don't get bored of is staying home. I love my home and I love the peace and energy that it provides me. My home is sort of a template of my life, the personal and meaningful objects that I have collected all represent me as I have morphed thru time. After figuring out the new Nikon I decided to give it a test ride... enjoy.

I’ve been collecting Buddha statues for a few years now and I love them. I think they’re beautiful and display them in my living room. I'm not a Buddhist, as a matter of fact I don't follow a religion, I think religion is evil. But I respect and love to learn about all religions. I have an ohm symbol tattooed on my arm, again another symbol from another religion. I hadn’t really thought much of any of this until someone told me that God is a jealous God.. I stopped for a second and giggled.

I have about 53 candles in my home. They are never lit.

I am a mother to two special boys. Pure and Simple are not just cats. This piece is one of my favourites.

More unlit candles.

Incense are fun, they smell amazing. Especially the really cheap ones that I buy from this one guy in Venice. I probably have enough incense to fit in a dressing drawer and of course I had to have this vintage incense holder, purchased from a rustic thrift store in Idyllwild.

I drink a lot of wine, I am not an alcoholic. I like to collect corks, another obsession.

Leaves. Every Autumn they fall. I like what it represents.

I am very curious about paintings, these two pieces where bought in Phoenix at a small art fest.

I am very intrigued with boxes, anything I can fill and then close the lid... yep i'll take it. This heart shaped sterling silver box was given to me from a dear friend. Enclosed are miniature post-its that were written about four years ago to APW. We were away from each other for 48 days and each day I wrote a post-it about why I love him... Yes, cheesy.

Again, I am not an alcoholic.

Elephants, they calm me. I've never had the opportunity to ride one but hopefully sometime next year during my trip to India... (wishful thinking).

Buddha - on my wall.

I found this key holder at a rubbish yard, couldn't let it pass by.

My favourite flowers are roses. My dear mother gave this to me. I love you, mum. Please pardon the dust.

I listened to quite a bit of their stuff. My dad bought me their special edition watch when I was around 15. I sold the watch and kept the box. It is now used to store guitar picks and pennies.

Every girl should have a Marilyn picture on their wall.

Inspirational sayings. It lives in the bathroom, go figure.

Me. A pathological photographer.

Weightless.

Summer is here. Yes, today is summer solstice.. I can just feel how excited you are. Living in Los Angeles I don't seem to appreciate this day as much as most of you out there, especially the readers in Europe. I hate to rub it in but you know Cali, the city of sun.. (hmmm... is that even a saying)?

Summer reminds me of two things.. House music and red lipstick. I don't require much to keep myself happy, especially during summer. This is the season where one appears to seem weightless.

If you’ve been touched by house music at some point in your life then you’ll know the whole meaning of this killer house set by DJ Seta entitled “I Love House Music.” Starting off with the timeless track “Sweet Dreams” by Eurythmics this is no ordinary remix, Seta has picked a track with pulsating bass that just leaves you wanting more…so much more! And DJ Seta delivers with “Takes Me Away” and “Africa” blending so sweetly it’s as if these tracks were produced at the exact same studio. Of course it doesn’t stop there, you’ll feel energized and happy once you “Feel the Heat” and get ready for your “Lapdance”, these mixes continue to build on each other, climbing and as long as you “Listen to the Beat” you’ll really get it….House Music is all about L-O-V-E.

Apart from DJ Seta my all time top house tracks are;

1. Beautiful Things - Andain
2. Let You Go - ATB
3. Stay - JJ Flores & Steve Smooth
4. At The End - IIO
5. Get Better - KMC
6. Empty Streets - Late Night Alumni
7. Deadline - Dutch Force
8. Tranzy State of Mind - George Acosta
9. More & More - Spoiled & Zigo
10. In My Memory - Tiesto

If you don't want to download them individually then I suggest bookmarking the Trance/House station on Pandora... two thumbs up.

I'm a big fan of red lipstick in the summer. Not only is it unexpected, but it looks so refreshing with the season’s bronzy skin and softly flushed cheeks. The trick is to choose an orange-y red to keep things bright. And skip anything matte—it’s too heavy for summer. You want a creamy lipstick so the colour looks moist.

You can even wear this look during the daytime: After you swipe on the colour, blot your lips with a tissue to take the shade down to a soft red stain. Just keep in mind that red lips, no matter which way you wear them, only work in the summer if the rest of your makeup is fresh and natural. For example nothing more than a taupe eye shadow and black mascara, simple as.

Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick - Gwyneth Paltrow.

The Same Parents.

Anyone wanting a new kitten should be a cat lover. Let's face it folks, cats are just different from dogs. Cats do not usually perform any special tricks, and they certainly do not guard your possessions while you are away. In fact, the only thing you can be guaranteed of by having a cat is that a mouse won't last long if they creep into your home.

Cats are loved by many because of their independence. Cats have a life, so to speak. Most cats do not follow you around the home with their tongues hanging out of their mouths waiting on your attention. While they do love their owners fiercely, cats will not grovel like a dog and worship and fawn over their owners. Cats are perfectly content simply being themselves--and they do not seem to need constant reassurance, unlike canines.

This does not mean cats do not need love and affection, it simply means cats are not "fragile" characters. In fact, cats exude a self assurance which can often be misunderstood as aloofness or coldness. Yet, cats are far from aloof or unfeeling. They feel deeply and love deeply. If a cat comes to sit on your lap, you know you are truly loved.

I absolutely adore my cats, they are like my family. They make me giggle and provide constant entertainment. Although they both have the same parents they are completely different.
